New Pigment Inks – Print Extra Durable Labels
When printing your own labels and with the new pigment inks available as an alternative set for or say the PRIMERA LX900e and standard fitting in the new PRIMERA LX2000e its possible to print extra durable labels even for outdoor use. Previously dye based inks had a tendency to colour fade if exposed to bright sunlight. Now with the alternative pigment inks labels can be printed that can be used to label products like pot plants displayed outdoors in the sunshine and weather in garden centres for example. With certain label materials like our SJET matt white pp that is approved to BS5609 its possible to print extra durable labels suited to say chemical drums and containers where the labelling has to satisfy potentially arduous conditions like extended marine submersion as part of the new GHS/CLP and international shipping regulations for hazardous substances. The photo shows labels tested outdoors and from top to bottom the new LX2000e pigment ink, the optional LX900e pigment ink and the original dye inks perhaps now retained only for indoor use. In any event the new pigment inks have widened the possibilities allowing more users to Print Their Own Labels using their own computer.
